A view of the treadle and Anvil. The anvil is held in place with a cylinder clamp (just a pipe with tabs welded on it) so I can take it loose if I need to move the treadle hammer and want to lighten it up (the anvil weighs about 300 lbs). The top of the anvil has a plate with a 1" square hole in it so I can drift pin in differing dies if I want to. The die that is in the picture is just a flat one, but I could make upper and lower die sets for whatever purpose that suited the occasion. The hammer has a similar hole and drift holding capability. I align the hammer and anvil square holes with a 1" square bar, then adjust the hammer bearings so the hammer hits with the square holes lined up.
